There needs to be an air gap between the internal fan the the fan guard. Do not model it the same thickness of the fan. Alternatively, you can assign a thickness value for Inventor Nesting from the model browser as follows. For situations like these where no thickness value is available, Inventor Nesting assigns a default value of 0.12 inches. Its strange how dark the model is compared to 3DF, nothing different was done with the photos. Similarly, when you nest a sketch, no thickness value is found since by default a sketch does not have any thickness. Agisoft Photoscan came in at 14min for processing. Instead create a cylindrical geometry representing the cross section of the fan. The model itself is still in pointcloud form so it still needs more processing. For the fan, it is not necessary to model the details of the fan. Autodesk Memento vs PhotoScan vs PhotoModeler. Thanks in advance for your time and cooperation. The first step is modeling the geometry in CAD. pipe with 3 inch diameter and 2 inch opening nas 1/2 wall thickness.
Rather than experimenting with every function in Autodesk ArtCAM Standard 2018, I recommend that you take the free Instructables ArtCAM Class.
You can find instructions on how to embed a screencast when posting to the Autodesk Community forums here. I have looked at tutorials for artcam express where they can adjust the relief thickness but I can't figure out how to do that in the standard version that I subscribed to. This puts the entire relief on top of the workpiece so that nothing gets carved. Use Quilt to select a group of connected faces with one click. It specifies that only individual faces can be selected with each click. On the ribbon, click 3D Model tab Surface panel Thicken/Offset. Currently, when I try to do material setup or machine relief it has the model thickness set to zero. A thicken operation adds or removes volume from parts or adds thickness to surfaces to create parts or new solid bodies. I spent many hours today trying out every function in the program to try and figure out how to change the model thickness for a relief. I am new to artcam and trying to figure it out.
